[SP/Writing] Characteristics of a good leader

Always being a good leader is so hard. If a leader did or ordered something, some people would not like it but others would think positively of it and praise the leader. We cannot always be a good leader and not everyone always loves the leader. However, we can be the good leader for most people. How can we be a good leader?

 

First, a good leader is not arbitrary. It is very important to listen to others opinions and coordinate opinions. If she or he acts like a dictator, not only could she or he miss some good opinions that would be helpful for a team, company and nation, but also she or he could lose good people to help the leader.

 

Second, the good leader can accept other opinions and claims. The leader has to communicate with others. When the leader has a meeting with teams, other companies or senior officials of the other nations, they must discuss and argue about one or more topics. While arguing, if some opinions are greater than the leader's, the leader has to accept these opinions because they are more useful and efficient. Moreover, when some juniors at work make request or claim something is wrong, the leader has to make it correct.

 

Third, the good leader must have a good ability in specific domains. For example, a leader who works in an IT company has to have good skills to have knowledge of IT, to be good at drawing a blueprint and to be good at presentations. In IT companies, they have to develop a variety of software and if some teams want to start a new project, they present it in front of corporate executives. And if they want permission for their project, they need to draw a blueprint well.

 

There are lots of things to be a good leader. I chose these three. I also always go through trials with my projects and team work. There is no answer but sometimes I think I want to receive some answers to be a good leader. It is always stressful.
