In my opinion, definite evidence in the article is most important. If the evidence is objective and trustworthy, people trust and believe this evidence. Like Caleb said, credible authors are also important to believe articles. However, not all credible authors write trustworthy articles. There is a possibility that they can write unverified articles. In other words, people do not trust every expert only seeing the authors' authority. They also need to check the content of the articles. Writing essays, the purpose of determining documents is usually to support my opinion, explain something, etc. As a conclusion, if people find some authorized fact, it would be trustworthy.

While I appreciate the points made by both Caleb and Laura, I think the best method of determining whether an article is reliable is to check who as published it. This is because if it has been published by a trustworthy source like the "New York Times" we know that a lot of time and money has been used to ensure that it is accurate. Moreover, when this sort of publisher realizesthat they've made a mistake in an article they usually go back and fix it. Sometimes they even retract the article. Some people, like Laura, might argue that it is most important to check which sources the author has cited but they don't realize that some unscrupulous writers might simply fabricate sources.
