My Writing
Smart cars are continuously communicating with a centered-control system and dribe themselves using a lot of sensors. However, a new technology always has some problems and the writer and lecturer are discussing the pros and cons of smart cars.
First, the writer argued that smart cars can prevent accidents with a lot of sensors. These sensors can measure most things: distance between cars and obstacles. Moreover, the system built in the car can calculate whole things and automatically control braking and handling to avoid accidents. However, the lecturer argued that smart cars still have accidents, and they could make more accidents if the distance of cars narrows with faster speeds.
Second, the writer said smart cars can make traffic jams disappear and people can increase the highway speed of smart cars. On the other hand, the lecturer said more people will be on the highway because driving is much easier than before. For this reason, people could buy more cars and it could create more traffic problems.
Lastly, the writer said people can reduce the costs of driving because smart cars are programmed to find the most direct routes. The lecturer asserted that smart cars cannot reduce the costs of driving. The costs of driving are dependent on the distance people want to go and repairs is much more expensive than others cars.

Second Writing
The writer and the lecturer discussed smart cars: the writer said that people can gain lots of benefits, and the lecturer asserted that it is unclear that smart cars can produce these benefits.
First of all, the writer mentioned that smart cars would prevent people from having accidents. with a variety of sensors, they can calculate gaps between obstacles or other cars and theirs. However, the lecturer argued that more smart cars would lead to more accidents even if they are controlled automatically because they drive more tightly together than people think. This is why the cars cannot save more lives.
Secondly, the writer claimed that smart cars could reduce traffic problems, and the cars follow closely and drive with high spees. As a result, people could reduce their commuting time. On the other hand, the lecturer disputed this, saying that smart cars help people drive easily, and people would buy more cars and drive when they commute. Consequently, roads are full of cars, and the cars cannot reach high speeds.
Lastly, the writer said that smart cars would reduce the cost of driving, for example spending less money on repairs or replacing some parts, because smart cars drive following optimized routes. Even though it is possible to follow optimized routes, the lecturer metioned that the cars are expensive. Sensors and advanced technology in the cars would be more expensive than traditional parts to repair.
