[SP/Writing] How to be successful in your chosen professional career

 What is being successful? I depend on people's definition. My definition is being rich and happy. Based on this definition, I am going to write about being successful in my chosen professional career. I am an undergraduate student now and I do not have any job experience. My department, data science, has only 4 professors. Therefore, I do not have a lot of experience to draw from. As a conclusion, my essay might have a bias related to what it means to be successful. Regardless of the bias, I would like to write about success in my career.

 

 The field that I chose in data science is related to artificial intelligence. Its technology and values have changed drastically since computer hardware was developed in the early days. Moreover, people who work in this field can make a lot of money. If people want to be affluent in this field, there is a condition: getting a higher degree. The higher the degree people get, the more money they can make. Therefore, they can get more job opportunities because they have expertise in this field.

 

 Secondly, people need to get interesting domain knowledge. If they don't have interesting domain knowledge, although they can go everywhere, it is hard to learn specific knowledge every time. This is why people need to focus on an interesting domain and become an expert inthat field. However, if learning specific knowledge every time is possible, they do not have to choose one field. It depends on the person.

 

 As a conclusion, being successful in our chosen professional career has three factors: being highly educated, knowing ourselves and getting interested in a specific domain. If you are successful in your field, firstly, you need to know yourself and set your definition. Then, you need to listen to people's stories about how they became successful in their career. After that, you could succeed in your field.
