I partly agree with Paul. If parents always monitor their children's access to the Internet, their children could wonder why they need to be restricted by parents, and this is why the children could disobey their parents. The disobedience could continue because children also have their own ego and parents need to respect theirs. I think parents' job is not to restrict their children but to guide and teach their children right from wrong. However, there is a lot of harmful content on the Internet. This is why the government must restrict some harmful content to protect children so parents do not need to. As a conclusion, my opinion is that restricting content is the government's job and guiding and teaching are parents' jobs.
Second Writing
I also partly agree with Clair. Parents can prevent their children from making mistakes, for example, an accidental purchase or unnecessary phone call. However, children should learn how they can gather information and filter it. Learning something is a process to make mistakes and achieve good results. Parents, of course, should help their children filtere some adult information, for example sexual or drug content. On the other hand, the more parents restrict their children's online activity, the more their children want to resist their regulation. Hence, parets need to find a proper line to respect their children's privacy, to make their children learn how to be responsible for their actions and to help their children avoid inappropriate information.
